Great day for being on the beach, sunny warm and possible sea breeze for the ENE wind which was building. Took the MH and trailer with missus and grand C hoping for a sea breeze which I missed twice same time, each day. Wind came up to F5 from nothing at 2pm. Rigged 7m / 130L and was ready to go when it dropped. (Was dropping as rigging) the bloody wind was only 30 mins. Rigged 8.6m thinking it would come back and the onshore sea breeze seemed to start again 4pm so shot on the water again with 8.6 / 145L and the wind dropped again even before I hooked in. Wallowed around praying for it to return as it was teasing. I just managed to ease into straps on the swells coming in after vigorous pumping. 2 kiters were just planning so persevered, but when they went in I knew it was curtains. The wind totally died and with the tide running out, called it a day. Daft sport. Sold my favourite board ever JP146L pro excite ride, so was hoping to give its replacement Patrik 145L a run out. Both boards are eggshell that I know after nicking the Patrik on a pebble! Pumping raised HR to 163 bpm so nice workout.
